Museum holds special presentation honoring Indonesian culture and the arts
On August 3, His Excellency Heri Akhmadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, was the guest of honor in the special Tokyo Fuji Art Museum presentation, “Indonesia’s Culture and Charm.” The program opened with a traditional Indonesian dance and followed by Ambassador Akhmadi expressing his appreciation to the museum for holding “Exhibitions of Embassies, Part II: Pathways to Cultural Exchange with the World” displaying works of art on loan from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. The ambassador also presented TFAM with a gift commemorating the exhibition.
In addition, the event featured online presentations by Dr. Catrini Pratihari Kubonubuh, Chairperson of The Indonesian Heritage Trust and The Southeast Asian Culture Heritage Alliance; Riela Provi Drianda, Ph.D, Associate Professor at Waseda University’s Faculty of Social Sciences; and Dr. Mikke Susanto, Curator and Lecturer at Indonesian Institute of Art’s Faculty of Art.
