INITIATIVES FOR SDGs

The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum is committed to taking on various challenges leading up to 2030, the target year for achieving the museum’s SDGs. These efforts align with the eternal guiding principle of its founder, which is to be an art museum that serves as a portal to the world, and its motto, or fundamental idea, which is to be an art museum that fosters global citizenship.

The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum has established specific goals and is working on the following items.

Practical Initiatives

Goal 1: Battling Poverty

  • Promotion of museum use through admission fee exemptions and discounts for elementary and junior high school students, the elderly, people with disabilities, and group tours
  • Installation of the free menstrual pad dispenser OiTr

Goal 2: Food Diversity

  • Restaurant dishes made with non-standard vegetables

Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being

  • Stress checks for mental and physical health

Goal 4: Quality Education for All

  • Activities such as collection, conservation, research, exhibition and dissemination of cultural properties
  • Promotion of museum use through admission fee exemptions and discounts for elementary and junior high school students, the elderly, people with disabilities, and group tours
  • Museum education activities through group viewings and classes
  • Installation of barrier-free facilities and equipment in the building
  • Conducting events and exhibitions online
  • Museum education activities and lectures offered through the “Revive Time: Kaki Tree Project” to share and impart the importance of peace and the value of life

Goal 5: Achieve Gender Equality

  • Installation of the free menstrual pad dispenser OiTr
  • Installation of unisex multipurpose toilets
  • Promotion of maternity leave, childcare leave and menstrual leave

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

  • Promotion of measures such as switching to LED lights and powering off electronics when not in use

Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

  • Job creation for people such as foreign nationals and persons with disabilities

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

  • Activities such as collection, conservation, research, exhibition and dissemination of cultural properties

Goal 10: Reduce Inequality Within and Among Countries

  • Promotion of museum use through admission fee exemptions and discounts for elementary and junior high school students, the elderly, and people with disabilities
