This exhibition presents the genealogy of photographic history from the dawn of photography to the present day through carefully selected photographs from some 20,000 pieces of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum's photography collection.
Although today's digitalization has made it easy for anyone to take photographs, taking a picture and printing it required a great deal of effort in the past. We hope visitors can rediscover the thoughts and charm our predecessors put into a single photograph by glimpsing into nearly 200 years of photographic history alongside the works created through trial and error.
