On April 12, 2025, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum formally opened the exhibition, “Commemorating the Donation of the Kanbe Collection: The Reviving Spirit of Ukiyo-e—From the Meiji Era Kaika-e to Shin-hanga” (pamphlet photo). Featuring Ukiyo-e from the museum’s collection, the exhibition draws largely on works donated by Ukiyo-e collector Kazuyoshi Kanbe and is organized into three segments. Included among them are representative pieces of the Meiji era (1868-1912) and successor shin-hanga “new prints.” The final day of “The Reviving Spirit of Ukiyo-e” will be on Sunday, June 21.
Two other exhibitions are being held at this time: the “Special Exhibition: Tavola Doria” and “From the Renaissance to the 20th Century—500 Years of Western Paintings.”
