Armed with only a camera, photojournalist Robert Capa (1913-54), risking his life across five battlefields in the “century of war,” was hailed as “the greatest war photographer in the world.” With 70 years passing since Capa was killed by a landmine in Vietnam, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum pays homage to his life, work and legacy as an ardent anti-fascist, democrat and early benefactor of photography as an art, with “A Century of War Caught on Camera.” Shown over two separate segments, the exhibition features 75 vintage Capa prints and includes a special display of the camera the renowned photographer owned at the time of his death.
