OVERVIEW
At the request from the Provisional Urban Council of Hong Kong, Tokyo Fuji Art Museum’s “Masterpieces of Western Painting” was held in commemoration of Hong Kong’s historic reversion to China. This exhibition charts the history of Western painting from 16th to the 20th century through the works of the premier artists of each era. As the largest exhibition of its kind ever held in Hong Kong, the exhibition earned extensive praise for its cultural and educational value.
