OVERVIEW

In response to a request from the government of the Republic of Colombia, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum provided “Treasures of Japanese Art,” the first major exhibition of Japanese art at the National Museum in Santa Fe de Bogota. It featured some 90 folding screens, hanging scrolls, ukiyoe woodblock prints, laquer ware, armor and swords, was held as a reciprocal exhibition for TFAM’s holding of the “Colombian Gold Exhibition: Legendary Treasures of El Dorado” in Japan in 1990.
