SUMMARY

The figure depicted in this work, in spite of a human being, is pulled away from a human being itself by wearing a characterless ready-made suit and erasing its face. Likewise, from the apple floating in space, its character is also eliminated. The two characterless objects seemingly have no connection with each other and make an encounter that is made possible only in a painting. An “impossible encounter in everyday life,” a typical theme for Surrealists and Magritte, goes through a normal level of awareness and evokes a surreal sense mixed with astonishment.
