On June 7, 2025, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum organized a community outreach event at which students from the Hachioji Municipal Toyo Elementary School, their guardians and teachers took part. The first segment of the program featured a walk-through of “Mitsuaki Iwago’s Japan ‘Cats’ Travelogue Photo Exhibition,” during which they were asked to pay attention to the movements and expressions of the photographed felines. The second part was a tour of the Permanent Exhibition Gallery 1 in the New Wing, at which participants were allowed one minute to carefully scrutinize a painting, then had to share their observations of that work. Following that, teachers explained the attributes of the figure or object painted.
