Art and crafts education group holds winter study session at TFAM

On December 24, an art and crafts education research association of the Tama area in Tokyo prefecture held a winter study session at the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum. The session aimed to create places of communication through dialogues promoting art appreciation, with the first part featuring field reports on an art appreciation course developed by the Hachioji City Toyo Elementary School as well as on art appreciation initiatives of art museums and schools in the Tama area. In the second part, participants were led by facilitators on a tour of TFAM’s exhibitions shown at its permanent gallery, stopping before select works to discuss their impressions. The session concluded by noting the importance of communicating with others in order to more thoroughly appreciate art.
