Forty-two years ago, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum opened its doors to the general public for the first time on November 3, 1983. That we have come this far we owe to the warm, unflagging support and patronage of our visitors, for which we are profoundly grateful.
TFAM was mandated by our museum’s founder Daisaku Ikeda to serve as a portal to the world and informed by our 2023 mission statement to foster global citizenry. As such, we have continued to engage in initiatives to facilitate the exchange of diverse cultures, promote opportunities for art appreciation in classrooms and communities, as well as enhance museum operations and enrich the viewer experience through digital technologies.
And we pledge to stay true to our mandate and mission, adding new chapters to our ongoing narrative of achievement as we strive to employ art in the service of peace for all.
