Three works in Tokyo Fuji Art Museum’s collection of Western paintings will be included in “Frontiers of Impressionism: Paintings from the Worcester Art Museum” exhibition that opens at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum on January 27. The exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of The First Impressionist Exhibition held in Paris and is organized by the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts, USA. According to the American institution’s website, it includes a “stunning collection of American and European paintings that tell the story of Impressionism’s roots” and its spread in France and its subsequent expansion to the United States, Germany, Scandinavia and other countries.
Among TFAM’s contribution to “Frontiers of Impressionism” are “Detour in Auvers” by Cézanne, “On the Terrace” by Morisot and “Woman Plucking Grasses” by Kuroda. Our museum will hold the exhibition from July 6 to September 29, 2024.
