TFAM Holds Press Conference on ‘Palace of Heaven on Earth Exhibition’

The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum held a press conference introducing “The Palace of Heaven on Earth: Works from the Palace Museum in Beijing” exhibition at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan in Yurakucho, Tokyo, on February 21. The exhibition’s Japan tour, which will be cosponsored by The Asahi Shimbun Company and TFAM, is scheduled to kick off from May 3 at TFAM in Hachioji and run until September 3.

Some 50 journalists and reporters from both Chinese and Japanese newspapers, magazines and television stations attended the press conference.

The exhibition, which will be held in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of restored diplomatic relations between China and Japan, centers on women who lived in the imperial dynasties of China spanning five centuries. It includes some 200 works, 19 of which are among China’s national treasures.
