Silk Road Camel on Special Display

The Tokyo Fuji Art Museum is displaying a stuffed camel that the Dunhuang Relics Research Institute presented to TFAM founder Daisaku Ikeda on the occasion of the “Treasures of Dunhuang, China” exhibition held at TFAM in 1985. The camel symbolizes the bonds of peace and friendship that have been forged between the Chinese institute and our museum in Japan, and is now being displayed to commemorate the holding of “The Palace of Heaven on Earth: Works from the Palace Museum in Beijing” exhibition slated to run from May 3 to July 3.
