Tokyo Fuji Art Museum’s “Masterpieces of Byoubu-e and Beauty of Maki-e” featured some of the finest works of classical Japanese art from the Momoyama to the Edo periods. It included gold-leafed sliding door paintings, pieces done in the Kano and Rimpa school styles, folding-screen paintings by master artists Taikan Yokoyama and Seiho Takeuchi, and gold and silver lacquer works from the modern era.
