From August 2010, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum organized the Japan tour of “Treasures of Poland: Rembrandt and the Precious Royal Collection,” a special exhibition made possible from the generous cooperation of the Historic Centre of Warsaw and Wawel Royal Castle. The exhibition, which was eventually viewed by some 600,000 people when it concluded its tour in 2011, featured paintings, handicraft and sculptures of Poland from the 19th century loaned from the National Museums in Warsaw and Krakow. In addition, two works by Rembrandt—Girl in a Picture Frame and Scholar at His Writing Table—were shown in Japan for the first time; works and materials related to Copernicus, Chopin and Madame Curie were also on exhibit.
