Ho-Am Museum is the largest private museum in the Republic of Korea that was founded in the suburbs of Seoul in 1982. While its collection includes a number of prized cultural assets that have been designated as treasures as well as national treasures, it may be best known worldwide for its ceramics collection, which is not only extensive but also features some of the finest individual pieces found anywhere. The special exhibition, “Masterpieces of Korean Ceramics from Koryo to Chosen Periods: From the Collection of the Ho-Am Museum in Korea,” displayed 152 carefully selected ceramic pieces created over a millennium that were shown outside of Korea for the first time.
