Mune Hime (Princess Mune) is a daughter of Date Shigemura (seventh daimyo of Sendai Domain) and married Date Muranaga (sixth daimyo of Uwajima Domain in Iyo Province) in 1785. Her Buddhist name is Kanshoin. As a wife of the daimyo, she raised her son Muraaki as well as the daughter of Muranaga. Munetada, who later became the seventh daimyo, was also raised by Mune Hime. When she died in 1820, Mune Hime’s furniture was passed down to Masa Hime (the seventh daughter of Munetada) and was moved out of the Date family when Masa Hime married to the Matsudaira family in the Shimabara Domain in 1858.
